“Women need to get better at backing themselves for opportunities that do matter. Because you’re smart, and you are intelligent, and I can guarantee you that if a guy named John thinks he can do it, you should too.”

An honour and a pleasure to have been on the panel for the final ever episode of #TheDrum. @ABCTheDrum for me was always the benchmark for "the conversation" in Australia. More raw than #QandA, and driven by voices that were willing to have an opinion and be challenged on it.
Incredibly honoured to be a guest on the last ever episode of the Drum. The small team behind it are honestly one of the best in the business. Just incredibly passionate people who care. Truly care. Thank you to everyone who watched me rant and ramble my way through 🫶
More often than not the crew are never aptly thanked for the work they do in putting something to air. It’s hard. Our directors, camera ops, and floor managers are part of our little family. Thank you for putting up with us these last few years and our ridiculous demands.
Quite sad to farewell The Drum tonight. Informed debate beyond the sound bite, perspectives from all over, and so much fun to work on. Shout out to the studio crew who pull it together no matter the challenges. Excited to see what's next from the talented 🥁 team!
A big thank you to everyone at
#TheDrum and in particular to the sensational @_GhadaAli_ - you gave a 21-year-old from Western Sydney the confidence to be on TV and advocate for young Australians. It changed my entire career trajectory since then. Thank you for everything ❤️
Not a truer word spoken by @_GhadaAli_ of herself as a producer - the hours of conversations we have had over the years of everything from politics, to Lebanon, covid, to life, Argentina and everything in between. Thank you 🙏🏼
‘You might not trust me and I don't want you to until I've earned it. My job is to earn your trust, so you feel in control of the platform and the stories you chose to tell. This environment is take-take — if you tell me something about your kids, your trauma, your life, I carry it as I would any of my closest friends and families'
@DrDemography So deeply appreciate you saying so xx and thank *you* for all that you’ve brought to the show. I’m honoured that you would share that with us
There is no way for me to possibly ever thank everyone that has graced our desk, or express my gratitude for all that they have given us and me. It's been an honor, thank you. The show is only as good as the people we have and I can say beyond a doubt, we have had the best.
My colleague @ellenmfanning and I on what we have learned from hosting the Drum for the past few years: a tribute to the professionalism of our team, the challenging of who has the right to speak, and the enduring foundation of hope.

I just want to thank all the panelists, viewers and the people who shared the most personal aspects of their lives with me for the pre-recorded stories over the years. Not to mention the hard-working #TheDrum team - an awesome group of people.
As a panelist and host of @ABCthedrum at different times since it began 2010, I saw it evolve into a program that championed diversity and explored complexity, not just predictable ideology, opening the airwaves to important new voices. Well done team. #TheDrum
