the real reason you’re tired all the time: it’s not your workload. it’s your open loops. the text you haven’t answered. the apology you owe. the decision you’re avoiding. the conversation you keep postponing. these run in the background of your mind all day, draining your battery. close your loops. watch your energy return. mental clutter is more exhausting than physical work ever will be.
Being a KW fan has been so frustrating in the 2020s. Wanted him to correct his overseas record in Test cricket. He had all the ingredients - tight defence, grit and patience. However, it just didnt happen.
He played only 32 Tests since 2020 (less than 5 Tests per year). Only 13 outside NZ. Kept getting injured when an overseas assignment arrived which were already too far and few for the Kiwis. Averaged 75.83 at home in this phase (in 2020s) and only 39.13 outside NZ.
Now, he has retired from all international cricket in the middle of an overseas tour. Hurts as a fan but it is what it is. The writing was on the wall when he didnt accept the central contract and was seen as a strategy consultant this IPL.
110 Tests, 9515 runs, 54.06 avg, 33 tons. Stuff of a legend!
But an away average of 44.08 along with sub-35 average in IND, SA and ENG leaves a bittersweet feeling.
Still one of the best batters of this generation and easily the best from New Zealand. For a long time, NZ didnt have a batter who averaged 50-plus, he retires with his average closing towards 55. Retires having scored 16.4% of the team runs - higher than Kohli, Smith and Root. A Test hundred in every prominent Test playing nation accept South Africa.
Nearly 20k international runs with 48 hundreds and a Player of the Tournament award in a World Cup. Thanks for the memories, Kane Williamson 🫡
From the time I started playing cricket, Kane Williamson has been one of the most technically compact and magnificent batters I have seen. Balance, timing, and that trademark calm at the crease came together to make his batting one of the most consistently pleasing sights in world cricket. A thorough gentleman and a true role model for youngsters.
His retirement will probably be received with unexpected relief in more than a few bowling camps. Wishing him luck and success in his next chapter.
@sagarcasm Not in good taste! He doesn't need to be mocked for expressing his feelings and hoping for another chance. Cricket is his bread n butter afterall and it's a harsh game.
Sanju Samson said, “I reached out to Sachin Tendulkar when I wasn’t in the XI, he constantly guided me and helped me out. Even yesterday he called me and checked upon me, I’m really grateful for that”.
Sanju just mentioned Sachin sir supported him during his bad phase and called him and checked on him during last few days and look how he delivered not to forget Sachin was already busy with a huge wedding of his son managing all the VVIPs and yet he took time out specially to speak to Sanju and guide him.
GOD of cricket for a reason.
Funny how star sports ads have gone from 300+ and cupcake chokes to now Vande Mataram after one humbling.

IMAGINE SUCH PEAK AT THE AGE OF 37. 🥶
1983 inspired an entire generation to dream big and chase those dreams. 🏏
Today, our Women’s Cricket Team has done something truly special. They have inspired countless young girls across the country to pick up a bat and ball, take the field and believe that they too can lift that trophy one day. 🏆
This is a defining moment in the journey of Indian women’s cricket.
Well done, Team India. You’ve made the whole nation proud. 🇮🇳 💙
Broken shoulder at one end. Shattered stumps at the other. And in between them, a guy who never gave up. Test cricket u beauty! ❤️ @mdsirajofficial@chriswoakes#INDvsENG
Joe Root closing in on Sachin in Tests but nowhere near him in ODIs.
Virat Kohli closing in on Sachin in ODIs but nowhere near him in Tests.
This is everything you need to know about how great Sachin Tendulkar was 🤌
