Pretending I live in a less boring dystopia. The fact that I think capitalism is bulls**t doesn't mean I don't have to pay rent. I make stuff. She/they.
Ok, well, I can't post my Mastodon profile, because the thin skinned melon blocked his competitors. But I'm guttermage on kolektiva (dot) social if anyone cares to find me.
@AlyssaJoyJaffee Now try doing all of that without a CEO's salary to hire childcare and homecare and buy pre prepared food and have someone do your cleaning and all of the other things the working poor can't afford.
Extremist politicians are eying cuts to Social Security under the guise of reducing the deficit—even though, by law, the program adds $0 to our national debt. I used my whiteboard to call out this dangerous lie and stand up for the millions of Americans who rely on the program.
@Keif_Wellington@BiLittleEmpath@eye0fmedusa@river_is_nice You said "masculinity in literally all its forms". Toxic masculinity exists as a phrase to distinguish it from masculinity that is *not* toxic. Masculine can be tough/kind/strong/vulnerable/whatever and there's nothing wrong with it, putting masculine in a narrow box is toxic.
@KatieAnnieOakly@piersmorgan I'm not defending white supremacy or the monarchy, both need to go yesterday, but I highly doubt a 75 year old British aristocrat is signalling a 4chan meme...
@Ryan75991049@minnesorta@NikkiHaley "Any of various". Most of the time, when people in democratic countries are talking about socialism, they're talking about democratic socialism.
@theconcat @NightsongWS I wouldn't be surprised if you were right... I *would* be surprised if those changes are for the better (and if twitter is still anywhere near as culturally relevant as it has been in 5-10 years).
How can we expect the Progressive Caucus to flex their strength in support of the working class when they can't even show unity in opposition to this ridiculous GOP anti-socialism statement?
@HappyUncleSam @tumorhead @sassyparrot@GoodPoliticGuy They're going to attack the ones who voted for it to. I don't understand why any of them did, it's not like it'll get them any respect from the other side.
@Derekro54177067@jovian_george@GoodPoliticGuy Sure, that explains why the US has the worst health outcomes compared to all the other wealthy nations, despite being the wealthiest, and having the "most free" (ie capitalist) system.
@GoodPoliticGuy I do not understand why any democrat voted for this. It's not like they'll give you a break for playing along. They're still going to call you socialist...
@NikkiHaley We see through your BS, you know. Your whole shtick is based on socialism = communism (it doesn't) and thus socialism is responsible for everything that communists did (plus all the things that happened because the capitalist US went absolute haywire to suppress communism).
I don't want to read any more stories about teachers who have to change their Black Studies class. I want stories about teachers who are resisting the AP changes. I want to hear about parents organizing freedom schools. I want to see students sit in libraries with banned books
