I uploaded my CV to ChatGPT, but instead of asking it to rewrite anything, I asked it 3 questions that completely shifted how I looked at my career.
You can do that, but you’re barely scratching the surface of what it can help you uncover.
These are the 3 questions I asked:
My friend spent about three solid years being extremely intentional about relocating to Canada. This wasn’t just a casual plan for him. it was a mission. He saved aggressively and denied himself a lot of everyday comforts most of us take for granted. Snapchat used to be his go-to app, but he completely went off it. At some point, I got worried because that wasn’t like him.
There were times he’d reach out to me to send him money, and I always did when I could. But deep down, I knew it was like giving a hungry crocodile a biscuit—whatever I sent barely scratched the surface of what he was dealing with.
Fast forward to last year, he finally secured his PR, and hearing him talk about the journey really put things into perspective. The level of discipline was intense. having millions sitting in his account that he couldn’t even touch, walking around with overgrown hair because he wouldn’t spend on a haircut, stretching the use of his car for as long as possible just to stay on track.
Honestly, I completely agree with this. if you truly want something in life, you have to be stubborn about it. Whether it’s your career, business, lifestyle, or even family goals, that level of focus and sacrifice is what eventually makes the difference.
Everything women demand from a man costs money.
-Provision costs money.
-Protection costs money.
-Leadership costs money.
-Performance costs money.
Everything men ask from a woman costs nothing.
-Respect.
-Peace.
-Loyalty.
-Softness.
And somehow, what costs nothing is still called "too much" BY MODERN FEMINISTS. 🥺
Last year, I turned down a contract that could have changed my life.
Volume
A steady flow of income
Top-tier industry association.
The company (one of the top players in the industry) was expanding rapidly and needed support from the people side to drive that growth. I was contacted by the CEO’s EA, got the brief, and we scheduled a physical meeting and my team showed up ready.
But from the waiting room, I started noticing things that didn’t sit right. The culture, how employees were addressed, the tension in the air became the CEO was around, the way managers spoke down to their teams. It felt like everyone was operating in panic mode.
Then we got into the conversation and the red flags multiplied. I later spoke with the team I’d be working with directly on execution, and their mindset wasn’t any different.
We got the contract. But through the ride home, I started re-evaluating. I thought about the values that had brought me this far in my career. I stopped to buy food, got home, ate and then sent an email officially declining the engagement.
Maybe things would have been different if it was a culture re-engineering project.
I understand taking risks in business, but not the kind that intentionally puts other people at risk.
Sometimes the real win is walking away.
Do I regret that decision? NO.
I i was telling my wife the other day that I feel so bad for Gen zs and the generation after them.
I was at an event that had a lot of them, and it was just sad.
Bad Govt and bad economy have robbed them of having a vibrant social life.
They hardly buy drinks at the club, can't afford cars, and can't afford decent apartments, so they create their own little way of having fun in raves and the likes.
No money to afford drinks. That's why you see prevalent recreational drug use in that demographic
From Uni, I was able to properly plan and go clubbing and will have such an amazing time, i would fly from Benin to Lagos with 10k then and not pay it any thought.
When I started working, my first car was 700k, a 2006 EOD in 2012 then, and when I moved to my first apartment. Rent was 1m for a 2bed on the island, and 1hp ac was 60k.
I remember buying a ticket to Venice for 180k and changing 2000usd for 360k at southern sun that year.
I feel so bad for them, their youth taken away from them because bad govt after bad govt, devaluation after devaluation.
A lot of you are actually very toxic people…Why are you already imagining a future where your husband cheats and spends money on other women because you’re splitting bills? Your own fantasies are always negative. No happy home in view at all.
When you marry someone who actually likes you and has sense, you won’t be having conversations about who brings what
Both of you will do what you need to do to make your home work
Most of you should just remain unmarried. Stay single, keep all your money to yourself, do whatever you want with yourself, and live your life alone.
Leave those who understand that marriage is a partnership to get married. It is not by force. It is not compulsory.
If someone recommends you for something, they put their integrity and sometimes their relationship with that person or organisation on the line.
It is important that you deliver.
Marriage isn’t for every woman. If your ego is too loud to respect a man, do everyone a favor and stay single. Marriage works for women who understand respect, discipline, submission and partnership.
Stay in your parent house.
Guys, if your father get house, stay there, maintain your separate flat, renovate it and marry there, you can start looking at developing your own while at it.
I saw a 3BR flat at 7M
One of the most painful parts of living in this country is watching people with so much brilliance slowly shrink their dreams to fit the limitations around them.
A Gen Z resigned, and left message for HR :
"The company can find a replacement in three days if I'm gone. But if I lose my health, I may never get it back."
The entire office fell silent instantly.
It was 8 PM on a Friday, and my partner was dead asleep on the living room sofa, still in his work clothes.
I was on FaceTime with a friend who was getting ready for a massive night out. She asked what my weekend plans were, and I flipped the camera to show him resting.
She sighed, doing her makeup. “Girl, doesn't it bother you? You’re young, it's Friday, and you're just watching a man sleep. You deserve the princess treatment. If he really wanted to take you out and show you off, he would.”
I looked at him. I looked at the dark circles under his eyes and the laptop still open on the coffee table.
What my friend didn’t see was that earlier that week, he had quietly taken over two of my biggest bills so I could afford to take a lower-paying job that I actually loved. He had been pulling 14-hour days for months, absorbing all the financial pressure so I could finally breathe.
I didn’t argue with her. I just calmly said,
“He is giving me the soft life. The soft life is me waking up without panic because he goes to war every single day. I’m not going to punish him for returning from that war exhausted.”
The line got quiet. I told her to have fun, hung up, and draped a blanket over him.
The internet has completely warped our idea of what love looks like. It has convinced women that "princess treatment" means endless aesthetic dates, constant entertainment, and a partner who operates with infinite energy.
But a man cannot simultaneously be in the trenches securing your absolute safety, and have the carefree energy of a guy with zero responsibilities.
I realized that night: The ultimate luxury isn't a man who takes you out to be seen. It’s a man who makes your life so incredibly secure that fiercely protecting his rest becomes your biggest priority.
If you earn ₦300k monthly, train yourself to live on ₦200k.
Save ₦50k and invest ₦50k every month.
In one year you would have saved ₦600k and invested another ₦600k.
In five years, that discipline alone puts you over ₦6M excluding investment growth.
Wealth rarely starts with millions. It starts with structure.
