​When her defense attorney objected, stating they had an agreed sentence with the state, Judge Matia responded: "Didn't ask me. Sorry. Your bad practice is not my problem."

​Freeman visibly sobbed in court as officers escorted her into custody to begin serving her time.

Freeman is expected to complete her 18-month community control (probation) sentence in January 2027.
