Crushing on @_HelloFuture and founder @charliegrosso for their work educating teenage refugees. We love featuring awesome foundations like these! Watch this week’s episode for more.
A great read on @the74 looking at what lessons we can learn from a 'mobile-first' #elearning programme operated by @_HelloFuture for students living in a Syrian refugee camp in the Iraqi Kurdistan region #educhat https://t.co/XlCZWvoxWB
So honored to be a guest on So Money Podcast with @Farnoosh. Financial literacy is so essential for refugee youth and yet not enough NGOs are teaching this fundamental. Full Ep here: https://t.co/QG4Z8fWRY6
Virtual Reality feels like a tech that could have been but never was. You should see the joy it brings our refugee students.
To experience VR 4 the first time, transported outside of the camp, to somewhere you've always wanted to go...Paris! Bali! New York City! It's magic. #TBT
Team Holly Minds wants to design an AI-based learning app to bring personalized learning to refugee students worldwide. Our favorite part is the app will periodically ping the student to make sure they are still awake should they be inactive 4 more than 15 mins. LOL. #Hackathon
Team UNIS "Science at Home" solution is brilliant! #VC are you paying attention? This is a great solution and will go a long way to encourage #STEM at home and in the classroom. #Hackathon
#TBT - Summer 2019. There is an incredible amount of joy and satisfaction in teaching, helping.
It takes a village to make our work happen. We couldn't do it without you ---- our generous donors, supporters, volunteers, staff, and board members. <3
Some problems require local knowledge & localized solution. In Arbat refugee camp, the students do not have textbooks making remote learning all but impossible.
Team Big Bang proposed for all the students to share a digital copy of the textbooks via Google Drive. #Hackathon
#Hackathon --- We love Team Wasp's solution to the burnt-out students are experiencing with remote learning. Adjust the schedule so they have one day a week without Zoom. To get caught up & do the work that is required to LEARN. So simple.
Busy is not the same as learning.
So I’m partnering with @DavidYurman in DC. Get your love something fly, and some of the proceeds goes to wonderful organization, @_HelloFuture, AND you get signed by copies of every single one of my books AND a zoom chat where I’ll be acting silly the whole time.
#TBT Summer 2019. "It takes a village" is no hyperbole.
There is a team of dedicated staff, volunteers, board members, and donors making all of our programs possible.
There is no short cut to education, no matter what VC and Start-Up founders want you to believe.
Rohat, age 17. Future doctor. Can you see how hungry & curious she is?
We see lots of girls like her. Reserved & shy, w/ limitless potential & ambition. They need cheering on, a safe space to speak & be heard.

Ahmed was ready to quit school. 15 yrs old, living in a refugee camp. Our program reignited his drive & he stayed in school. Sometimes they just need someone to believe in them.
There are thousands of Ahmeds. Make a donation & help a kid. #GivingTuesday https://t.co/YGTZNtdkUP
We are deeply grateful to all our supporters who came on this journey with us, 5 years & counting. We are grateful for our student & the trust you bestow on us. We don't take any of it for granted. THANK YOU.
Layla is the star of our student profile this wk.
Current podcast host. Future doctor. Exceptional Kurdish dancer.
Being a refugee does not mean they are without initiative, talent, or imagination.
@NeighborRefugee Thanks so much. And us of your work as well. Even though we are working on different parts of the refugee crisis, but goals & dreams are the same. Equality, dignity & access for all.
Nargis says it so eloquently.
That's the goal of our summer camp program. To provide a place so youth can experience each other as equals, irrespective of background, income, gender, faith, and etc.
We believe these are the first steps to a more equitable world for all.
