Iโve written to all @woodbrhigh parents today to set out our 2023-24 budget position. It is not good news. I urge all those who love our school to campaign for us. Without more money, I am worried that staffing cuts are coming. Young people, and ultimately society, will suffer.
Many people living along the Dead Sea Fault are understandably concerned about whether the earthquakes in Turkey mean that they are at higher risk now than before.
Let's find out.

Another year of very healthy GCSE numbers would suggest that our KS3 curriculum both engages and challenges our students. Qs like 'What makes a country a country' have certainly helped this cause. Extracts from our 'Power of Geography' scheme for year 9. Who would like a copy?
I have never liked our Africa Scheme of Work so I've started again from scratch and created a WEST AFRICA scheme for out Y9s for next half term.

A new oracy strategy developed by our AHT T&L to support students in building up to exam questions is working well so far.
This generates discussions around themes/focus areas before revealing the question.
A win for collaboration and closing knowledge and misconception gaps.
Year 12 spent the last lesson of the term measuring tree height and calculating carbon storage of trees on our site. Adapting some resources from @NHM_London and @FieldStudiesC.
Itโs difficult being a teacher, but for those in their early years it can be overwhelming. Remember you donโt need to re-invent the wheel. This worksheet is 20 years old - itโs been recycled many times, but essentially itโs the same task about the Suffragettes #historyteacher
I've just finished recording the ChatGPT Survival Kit for Teachers & Edu Leaders.
A 3-hour practical course on how ChatGPT can save you hours, transform assessment & develop student learning.
Out very soon.

We just launched an English version of our glacier map site https://t.co/WbaPixZz4T

Fast approaching that time of year when a lesson-by-lesson revision schedule needs to be drafted... these are always valued by students (& parents) so they know our plan of attack.
If it works, keep doing it!

I want to show my colleague (who doesn't have twitter) that her resources are epic. The QR codes take you to a video of me talking about geography at GCSE, and documentaries to prepare you for GCSE, and the GA. All done on her dictating label printer ๐๐๏ธ๐๏ธ #geographyteacher
@Headteacherchat These are some of the things we do to try and support staff well-being. Lots of them are centred around time and trust, but there are biscuits in there too!
I know a few people wanted the link to the KS3 National Curriculum excel sheet I made, so here it is for those and anyone else - https://t.co/MgiMNldWhH
Itโs formatted so that the cells have a drop down box and turn green if you tick them โบ๏ธ

We had #Ofsted in this week undertaking deep dives in English, Maths, History, Geography and PE.
I have outlined the deep dive questions asked to our Subject Leaders in their interviews, as well as some of my thoughts on potential answers in the link:
