If you’re just joining me: When I post about how to use social media, how/when to reach out to schools, & attend showcases/camps, etc…

It’s because I go thru it with my players each year. I can play the tape forward & tell you what happens.

Here’s 👇what you need to know:

1. Players, don’t post your own stats or accomplishments unless it’s your commitment post. Let others sing your praises.

2. Train at least 8 weeks for a showcase, or don’t go.

3. Be able to do one of these: throw 82+, run a 7.3 or better, pop a sub 1.95, or hit a ball 90+ as an underclassman, or 85+, 7.0 or better, 1.95, 93+ as an upperclassman, or save your money.

3. Reach out to schools with good video under :50 sec total, your GPA & ACT/SAT, and references. Then follow up. You’ll hear from 1 out of 10 if you’re lucky, after 50 if you get no responses, adjust the level.

4. Raking vs bad competition isn’t going to help you. Throwing gas vs anyone does.

5. You don’t have to be a showcase pony, but you better standout during games. Gap-doubles get attention, hit them.

6. If you don’t hustle, don’t play.

7. Like it or not, your body is your billboard. Treat it that way.

8. Come to the field looking like a ballplayer. Coaches are looking for reasons to cross you off the list & it’s really hard to get back on once you’ve been crossed off.

9. Be a good teammate.

10. Body Language is 100x more important in HS than it was in 13u, grow up.

Don’t take my travel vs HS the wrong way. If you’ve a hitter who has been dominating HS pitchers who throw 82 or a pitcher who dominates HS hitters because you throw 86ish….Get ready to be better.

And if you don’t see better. Get on a better team. Summer is for being better.
