Not only did they not help us, but they did everything they could to separate us.
An Italian documentary that recalls the historical injustice of the divided Albanian lands. 🇦🇱
Today isn't just a parade: it's a reminder of a hijacked legacy. Let's look at the facts that the history books like to forget:
When Athens was chosen as the capital, It of barely 5,000 people.
Almost everyone there spoke Arvanitika -Albanian.
The Great Powers Britain, France, Russia didn't want a Arvanite Republic run by Albanian-speaking .
Russia, Britain, and France did not want an Arvanite state 🇦🇱. They imported a 17-year-old German prince, Otto of Bavaria, who did not speak a single word of Greek.
He realized that to be accepted by the Arvanite fighters, he had to dress like them. He made the Arvanite fustanella the official attire of the royal court.
It was precisely Otto's court that hired German and Danish architects to turn Athens, the Arvanite village, into a city that imitated antiquity. They wanted to erase every Byzantine or Albanian trace.
Otto and his wife, Amalia, never had children. This created a great crisis because the constitution required that the heir be of the Orthodox faith, while Otto remained Catholic until his death.
In 1862, after manydiscontentments and revolts, they forced him to leave.
The Greek state was created by the blood of the Arvanites, financed by the banks of London, governed by Germans, and in the end populated by Anatolians. Where were the ancient Greeks here?
The Arvanites spilled their blood to create the state in 1821.Over a million refugees arrived from Anatolia Asia Minor.
These newcomers, who brought Turkish-influenced music, food, and culture, eventually became the most vocal "pure greeks," while the Arvanite identity, the very backbone of the revolution, was systematically erased or assimilated.
Today is the Arvanite Revolution Day 🇦🇱, when they fought for an Arvanite Republic 🇦🇱. Later, the great powers wanted to establish a state under the Greek name, and their sacrifice was claimed by immigrants who came from Anatolia.
Today would have been the third Albanian state.
🗣️ Gareth Bale: "With Zidane, if we were playing against Barcelona or Bayern, we'd do some tactics, the rest of the teams would be minimal—just your normal training, possession games and shots on goal, and then back to the locker room and home."
Serbia openly deployed a genocidal machinery aimed at the annihilation of Albanians.
A carefully thought-out project.
Today, Europe treats them as equal parties at the table. How is it possible that the architects of extermination are now considered legitimate partners in negotiations, without any remorse and without any justice?
They tried to confuse history.
They tried to twist names.
But the truth stands firm.
Nea Albania (New Albania) was real — not as a country, not as a state, but as a name used for lands where Albanians lived, settled, worked, and defended.
At the same time, Greece was Hellas, and the people were Hellenes.
This is not only written in old documents —
it is also acknowledged and accepted by modern Greek priests and scholars, who understand that history is complex and shared, not erased.
Different names.
Same mountains.
Same blood spilled for the same land.
They called us Illyrians, Albanians, Arvanites.
They called them Hellenes, Greeks, Romans.
Empires changed the words — not the people.
We lived side by side.
We fought side by side.
We resisted side by side.
From myth to history, from history to resistance, the Balkans have always produced men who stood when others invaded — Persians, Slavs, Ottomans — believing they could erase what the mountains had already chosen to protect.
You can change borders.
You can change names on maps.
But you cannot change a people rooted in their land.
This is not about division.
This is about memory.
This is about truth.
We are still here.
And history has shown — we always will be

My Croatian friend sent me this video and believes it shows a genuine map of the Balkans — depicting how native tribes supposedly should have formed modern states.
It presents:
•Albanians in their traditionally inhabited lands
•Croats (Dalmatians)
•Thracians
•Dacians
•Greeks
•Italy
I’m curious to hear what others think about this interpretation.
How accurate do you believe this map is from a historical perspective?
