Here’s a question for UGC creators…
Most brands like repurposing old content and splicing things together into new ads.
Do you have a problem with them chopping up and editing clips of the videos you make for them?
@nicktheriot_ This makes so much sense ha. How often do you cycle through new creative for your ads? And how do you usually source it? (Like do you get it from clients or make it all internally?)
Overall I don’t think it’s a bad model. It’s simple and easy to understand.
But these couple of reasons make me think there are better options for the video space.
Eager to hear other people’s opinions.
3: hard to feel stable and systematized.
I’m still new to the entrepreneur game so I’m sure there are better ways to do this, but when you’re at the whim of your client’s requests that come in whenever they feel, it’s very difficult to have structure (or free time) around that.
Twitter is either full of liars or full of absolutely incredible entrepreneurs.
The amount of posts I see about agency owners hitting $10k/month their first 3 months…
Bro it took me 6 months to finally make $1k.
Take it all with a grain of salt. It’s ok if it takes time.
Most people don’t understand this…
The definition of a *small* business is means the business has less than 100 employees
small.
This means a SMALL business can do 8 figs in annual revenue
If you’re doing 20k/mo, congrats… but youre still basically a freelancer
There are still employees at companies getting paid that salary
You need to think BIGGER
There is a SEA of *small* companies making 10mm/year who will gladly pay someone competent to do work for them
You might think its scary to charge 3k/mo… but to most of these companies thats a ROUNDING ERROR
3k/mo could disappear from their business and literally no one would notice
They probably pay their avg employee 2-3x that after tax/benefits/ect
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of these companies exist and they check their emails every hour… you just need to get in front of then
Send them cold emails, book them for meetings & close them
SEND MORE COLD EMAILS
The best way I've found to keep on track and stay focussed during the day goes back to the basics.
Wake up early, spend the 5 minutes planning out your tasks, and then regularly look back over that list.
Better yet, do the same few tasks everyday. Simplify everything.
5. Focus is crucial.
The theme of these mistakes is I didn’t have focus, even though I always thought I had good focus.
But starting an agency requires a lot, and your days are busy. So having focus and structure means everything.
