@heyjomachin The Noodle Shop Mysteries by Vivien Chien, A Deadly Inside Scoop by Abby Collette, the Gethsemane Brown series by Alexia Gordon, the Jaya Jones series by Gigi Pandian, and Kelley Garrett's books set in Hollywood are some of my faves
To review:
Ambien does not cause racism.
Diabetes does not cause racism.
Sex addiction does not cause racism.
You can experience all these things yet not use racial tropes or epithets, nor target minority establishments with homicidal rage.
Are we clear?
@heyjomachin If you like spooky, Katherine Arden's Small Spaces & Dead Voices are fantastic. For fantasy, my boys love Sayantani DasGupta's The Serpent's Secret & the rest of that series based on Bengali folklore. They listen to the audiobooks on loop.
I only discovered .@rachelcaine 's books this year, but her Great Library books astounded me. Jess & friends walked beside me & gave me respite from the depths of my depression. Thank you for the words you left for us while you were here. The world has lost a master storyteller.
@ActualJenny Yay! Do it. Daydream and jot down ideas. I've signed up for the first time in 8ish years but I'm not doing a full 50k words and working on a cozy mystery and a MG. I'm Jessica Arden on the NaNo site if you want to be buddies.
