Horrific scenes at Cill Dara Golf Club in Kildare which was a victim of some awful vandalism last night.

150+ acres of green areas in the Curragh and these vandals targeted the 100+ year golf 9 hole course.

Let’s give them all the support we can

@mike_j_o_ @EwanMacKenna Couldn’t agree more.

The talent is never the issue. It’s the access to quality coaching and the amount of training the non-schools kids get. That’s where the gulf in class is at the moment. The schools side have 4x the amount of training done by 17/18. Slowly changes, hopefully

[JohnJoe McIlwrath @_Johnjoe14]

@mike_j_o_ @EwanMacKenna Celebrating directed towards Ewan, not you.

Can’t really be any excuse this evening unfortunately. I’m gutted, but I can see why some strongly dislike the Irish rugby team.

Key word in that is most that play the sport. It’s starting to trend in the right direction, I think.

[JohnJoe McIlwrath @_Johnjoe14]

@mike_j_o_ @EwanMacKenna I haven’t argued any of that, they lost, should have won, ultimately, it’s a failure. By all means - criticise them as you see fit, they should be in a SF. But as I said originally, I don’t understand people celebrating against their own country. Which is what my issue is.

[JohnJoe McIlwrath @_Johnjoe14]

@mike_j_o_ @EwanMacKenna Haha any of what you said still makes me wonder why anyone would cheer against their own countries success and in fact, celebrate the failure 🤷🏻‍♂️

Go back and look at France celebrate the grand slam in 2022 and tell me they don’t give a shite👍🏻

@EwanMacKenna If it makes you feel any better, there are genuine efforts at bridging the gap between schools and clubs. A lot has changed since 2019. I’d say just support club rugby😂

No argument here on the latter. Take the good with the bad, praise and criticism should go hand in hand.

[JohnJoe McIlwrath @_Johnjoe14]

@EwanMacKenna Everyone loves Islands rugby. Fair enough 😂 but hate is a strong word, is there a reason in particular why? Listened to the interview - is it mainly the private school dominance?
