BREAKING: The CHSAA has officially released its penalty on Stepinac basketball for participating in the Chipotle Nationals:

Head coach Patrick Massaroni will receive a SEVEN game suspension; first 5 league games and 2 non-league.

No other penalties - no postseason ban, no travel restrictions, no probation - were given.

The belief is the league will also make an effort to revise rules so future teams can compete in these national events.

Pat Massaroni will NOT be leaving Archbishop Stepinac.

Confirmed this morning that Stepinac President Father Thomas Collins informed the community Massaroni will remain the boys basketball coach at the school after reports he was a finalist for the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida.

Massaroni met with the entire @step_basketball program this morning, as well, and explained he turned down IMG and will remain at Stepinac, his alma mater and where he is the Vice President of Institutional Advacement.

In 11 seasons as head coach, Massaroni has won 5 CHSAA titles - including the last 4 - has produced 6 McDonald's All-Americans and is already over 200 career wins, the most in program history.
