I remember years ago outlining ideas to help a ministry become more effective and efficient in reaching people, helping them grow, and encouraging them to remain faithful. After listening, a missionary smiled and said, “That sounds like a lot of work.”

I quickly replied, “Welcome to the ministry, my friend.”

If we are going to fulfill God’s calling on our lives, we must be willing to work hard.

Few things reveal the heart of a servant of God more clearly than a willingness to sacrifice for the good of others.

In 1 Thessalonians 2, Paul reminds us that his ministry was never driven by selfish ambition, financial gain, popularity, or personal recognition. Instead, it was marked by integrity, humility, genuine love, and tireless labor.

Paul, Silas, and Timothy did more than preach sermons—they invested their lives. They labored “night and day” so they could proclaim the gospel without becoming a financial burden to these young believers. Their example reminds us that genuine Christian ministry is often exhausting, costly, and largely unseen, yet eternally worthwhile.

Closing Challenge:

Paul did not measure success by comfort, popularity, or financial security. He measured it by faithfulness to Christ and love for people. His willingness to labor night and day reminds us that the gospel deserves our very best.

Ask yourself today:

*Am I serving Christ wholeheartedly, or only when it is convenient?

*Am I willing to labor diligently for the eternal good of others?

May God give us Paul’s heart—a heart that gladly labors, sacrifices, and perseveres so that others may hear the gospel and grow in Christ. One day, every unseen act of faithful service will be richly rewarded by our Savior.

We love Sunday School! Our class split into two classes about 8 months ago. Might be about that time, again. We love the people in the Abundant Life Bible class, and the opportunity to serve the Lord @Pacific_Baptist

For Mother’s Day, my wife wanted to have two single moms and my mom over & cook for them. In the evening, she wanted to take the kids to feed the ducks. That’s it.

I understand the Proverbs 31 husband “praising her in the gates” more and more.

I tell our people, “God blesses our class when we go soul winning”. We had a good day out yesterday. But today, the Lord sent 5 adult visitors to Sunday School, and a first-time couple we spoke with at the PM service. 🙌🏽

We should be praying for the army of Bible college students graduating. They need faith to GO into ministry. Not all will find “positions", some may need to create their own. We need pioneers & trail blazers who will shoulder the load, walk by faith & see God use them!

Joseph is preaching his first sermon at a rest home tomorrow. I walk in to the house last night, and he’s preaching his sermon to his brothers 😄 🙌🏽

I was blessed to spend a bit of time today with several men who are pastors in the Central Valley of CA. We need men to come and plant churches where there are NONE. We will help. California may be on the brink of a great movement by God. Come on! Pray for Cali and send us men!

As a husband, father, leader, I choose to follow those whose life has the fruit I want. Those whose “end of their conversation” I can consider.

If I don’t know where the train tracks go, I’m not hopping on that train. Not the newest shock doctrine, Social media preacher, the newest direction, mode, method, or so on.

Hebrews 13:7 “Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: WHOSE FAITH FOLLOW, considering the end of their conversation.”
