I am simultaneously in bed, at work, and hanging out with friends.
Distance has become meaningless.
Time...has become meaningless.
We are releasing people from jail who are there for misdemeanors, we are preventing families from being evicted, we are sending people checks for food, we are giving the homeless places to live.
We don’t have to wait for a pandemic to do these things, we should always do them.

I wonder how many of these people who are suggesting that we just have to let some people die would still be saying so if they believed there was a legitimate possibility that they or a loved one wouldn't have access to a ventilator if they got sick.
Thinking about this again in light of the current rhetoric minimizing the value of human life to “save” the economy and that we’ll “make it through”. Beyond the fallacy that we have an economy that works for everyone, sacrificing the vulnerable to protect the wealthy is soulless
