In view of the prevailing law and order situation, I have delegated powers under Section 3(1) of the West Pakistan Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, 1960, to Deputy Commissioners across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure timely and effective preventive action at the district level, reduce administrative delays and strengthen coordination with law enforcement agencies. However, these powers must be exercised strictly in accordance with the Constitution and the law, I expect all DCs to act responsibly and in close coordination with law enforcement agencies. The powers must never be misused. The peace, security and protection of our people remain my foremost priority

a 6 % point rise.

Since 2007, KP has endured nearly two decades of terrorism, militancy and conflict, directly disrupting education and destroying lives. Despite these extraordinary challenges, the province has continued to make progress in literacy.

Compare this with Sindh under the PPP rule its literacy rate fell from 60% in 2011/12 to 58% in 2024/25, despite years of governance and substantial public spending.

Recognise the progress alongside the challenges. Facts matter more than political point scoring.
