I’m heartbroken to hear that we lost Peabo Bryson today. His incredible voice and his kind spirit embodied the beauty of song and performance. He was so wonderful and generous to me all those years ago, when we recorded Beauty and the Beast. He made me so comfortable, as I was just learning to sing in English. He will remain for me always as a real symbol of the joy that music has brought to my life. His voice and his talent will be missed…
My heart is with your family, and may you rest in peace, Peabo.
Love,
Celine xx…
zendaya’s ability to capture the desperation of addiction was incredible to watch. angus barely says anything and still manages to break your heart. gut-wrenching cinema.
Germany has failed to win a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) secured 104 votes in the General Assembly, falling 23 short of the required two-thirds majority. It is the first time Germany has missed out on a rotating seat.
At the time of recording "Beauty & the Beast" (1991), Celine Dion was actually considered an "up & coming" singer. Disney was concerned she may not have been a "strong enough" pull to do the song alone. They asked the seasoned and well-known R&B star, Peabo Bryson to sing the duet along with Celine. It became a massive hit and it would also win them a Grammy for the song.
Peabo Bryson & Celine Dion truly gave us one of the most magical Disney theme songs of all time with "Beauty & the Beast". Peabo's signature sound and soothing tones will definitely be missed, but never forgotten.
People are calling Tom Holland arrogant and entitled for this, but he is absolutely right. The way Marvel has been making movies for the last several years is very bad.
Marvel has been shooting movies without scripts, shooting multiple versions of different drafts of screenplays by different writers and then stitching them together into Frankenstein movies that don’t make sense in response to focus group feedback. Executives have too much power and writers and directors have too little and therefore the movies lack purpose or vision.
This is how you get “The Marvels” or “Captain America: New World Order.” And it is perfectly justifiable for Holland, who is the face on the poster, to not want to be in a movie like that.
The process is bad, the movies are bad and the stars are more than justified in calling out the executives who are responsible. Nolan makes good movies and Marvel makes bad movies and Holland is completely reasonable and obviously correct to suggest that maybe Marvel should try making movies the way Christopher Nolan makes movies instead of the way Marvel has been making movies.
>companies and investors pour trillions into AI
>build data centers nobody asked for or wanted
>mass layoffs so you can replace senior devs with AI
>turns out AI/maintenance costs are astronomical
>is actually cheaper to just hire junior developers
>re-invent entry level jobs
This is how mass adoption of AI is going.
