@Puffs_Pride just saw your episode on Netflix. What a vibrant soul you have! I did see a couple things as someone who cares for a kid with #EOE and wondered if you ever have heard of it. (Trouble swallowing, frequent burping, and needing to pause for a while after taking a bite)
@JBsTwoCents What difficult news to embrace. I pray you have an overflow of support from your community and the space to grieve while also finding joy in her life before you.
#Community is a picture of heaven. To be known, to be seen. I felt loved by strangers simply by their willingness to be vulnerable about their experiences. This is a long journey, one I will take with my son for as long as I am able. But we are not alone. #EOE#chronicillness
This weekend I was lucky enough to attend an @APFEDorg conference. For a brief moment, I was surrounded by people “who get it”. I have only scratched the surface of the ways I was benefitted.
I met fellow #caregivers who are used to being made fun of because “they’re a control freak” because they have to keep their child safe from foods that could kill them. I felt grief and hope as I listened to others who have coped with life with the chronic illness my son has.
@AllisonRGS@JoshfromAR This is a totally reasonable request. They should include favorite color combinations for any necessary friendship bracelets too.
@TrueConsolation Once as a waiter at ihop, a man who had “shared the good news” with me earlier during his meal said so am going to leave you a big tip. He left only a couple dollars and then on the receipt wrote- “Big Tip: Get an education and make more of yourself! You’re worth it!”…
@KatelynBeaty@kaylajohnsonatl At the end of the next outing say, “hey, I wanted to ask you something if that’s alright? I have really enjoyed getting to know you a little on these outings, but I wanted to ask, would you be interested in meeting up outside of the group setting? Maybe coffee or a beer?”
Listen, if you refuse to get your child a pet for long enough, they will work together all evening to catch an unsuspecting moth, which they will name, and decide together that it will make a lovely pet.
People would have a better time caring for the elderly if they saw it as a chance to heal that person’s inner child. Our elders didn’t have access to the healthy emotional care that we have access to. They likely need the tenderness they never recieved as a child. #elderlycare
I cannot even count the number of times I have shopped at the Allen Outlets. With my kids, with the kids I used to nanny, countless times….. How dare politicians act like this is freedom. #GunControlNow
Mass shootings make the news, but each day 120 Americans are shot & killed, and hundreds more are wounded.
It’s time to act. Call your U.S. rep and demand they reinstate the bipartisan assault weapons ban, text FED UP to 644-33 and we’ll connect you.
