Finalist Athena Film festival Athena list - The Fastest Girl in the World |Writes about those who step outside of themselves to make life extraordinary
The volunteers make it happen. Thank you to the 300 energetic, hard-working, and passionate people who spent their weekend assisting guests, managing venues, and being the spirit of #Athena19. We couldn’t do it without you!
Previs is a very useful tool in look, tone and feel - this is important for storytellers. It will also be helpful when recreating older worlds that have almost passed out ofmemory. I have a couple of spare seats left if you are in creative fields. @cockpittheatre
#Bloomsbury is synonymous with Virginia Woolf. The area was a favourite of contemporaries as they set up the Omega workshop in 1913. Her early days of publishing the Hogarth press are explored in Fame and Rapture, a new play
at the Cockpit theatre this autumn.
#Virginiawoolf
Virginia and Leonard Woolf moved to Monks Cottage 1919. Woolf walked the downs daily and Leonard was a keen gardener. A new play, Fame and Rapture explores this world.

This weekend I took a bit of a road trip (on foot) around the British Library and Katherine Mansfield's Hampstead. As I left one of the Humanities reading rooms, Virginia Woolf bid me farewell checking I didn't take anything with me I shouldn't....#woolf#mansfield#modernism
The only person that Katherine #Mansfield could truly rely on - she was there for the good times and the rough times. #friendship#writers#modernism Ida Baker
Rare copies of first and second editions of #Prelude by Katherine Mansfield. Hand printed by #VirginiaWoolf - The beginnings of the Hogarth Press. Discover their dynamics in my new play Fame and Rapture.

This is one of Virginia Woolf's desks - bought over 100 years ago from Heals on Tottenham Ct Road- this sits in the writing shed in the garden at Monk's Cottage Rodmell. She hoped to host Katherine Mansfield but by this time she was living abroad. #writers#Fame & #Rapture
Writers can writer anywhere right? Katherine Mansfield had many desks that were not 'desks' in the traditional sense; coffee tables, kitchen tables, borrowed furniture. We see her below at a work table in France. photo credit: Ida Baker in 1920 National Library of NZ. #plays
Breaking:
Robert Redford has died aged 89.
Redford was an icon of films including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and All The President's Men, and founded the Sundance Institute, which runs Sundance Film Festival: https://t.co/pZK5VWs9lb
This bookish staircase at Woolf's house in Rodmell leads to the upstairs rooms of the cottage. She moved to this house and fell in love with the watermeadows adjacent. #VirginiaWoolf#KatherineMansfield 'Fame and Rapture'
'There is no feeling to be compared with the feeling of having written and finished a story.' In Fame & Rapture, Katherine has tea with Virginia who is publishing her story Prelude. The satisfaction in collaboration was mixed with their guarded relationship. #Woolf#Mansfield
Rodmell village, home to Virginia #Woolf and her cottage Monks house. #Katherine#Mansfield visited at a previous cottage and was due to visit again but was unwell. I'll be sharing more on these writers in the lead up to my showing of Fame and Rapture - a new play #writing
