@KakapoCalypse If it's not too much of a hassle, I think the magic effect triggered by clicking might get some more juice as well: lightning actually coming from the top of the screen, and black and white flash frames at the start to look more impactful.
Hi!
I'm still alive, and I'm still making games π
Just a quick info for those who might be interested:
You can get Plebs & Pillagers for 35% off right now on the #SteamWinterSale (link is on my profile)π
There might also be some updates on my next game(s) in the near future π
@Friedemann_A Looks lovely as always!
Just a random idea for the game over text (I'm totally not mad if you don't like it): the text could start in a hot glowing orange and then "cool down" to it's current color.
Would add some juice, but might differ from your intended feel.
@GreyAlien Let me guess: You have to repair the sunblinds, forcing you to look into the general direction of the sun in the process? π€
Anyways, they really suit you! π
@Friedemann_A Really love that art style!
The combination of the rough pixelart and the higher-fidelity assets can be qiote tricky to pull off, but you definitely did a great job!
@GreyAlien Totally agree. The argument "the code comments itself" can only be valid if it's written very descriptive (which it very often just isn't)
I've been working with a roughly 20 year old - mostly uncommented - web system for the last years, so I know what I'm talking about... π
Hey there!
Plebs & Pillagers is taking part in this year's "Steam City Builder & Colony Sim Fest"! ππ¨
You can pick it up right now for 35% off πͺ

@rlysimplegolf@clemmygames Exactly what I thought. It IS important to finish, but it is also important to know when to stop (sunk-cost fallacy, having a target audience etc.).
