As confirmed earlier through our official channels, in mid-June of this year, we unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the PHYSINT project. PHYSINT is an important project both to me personally and to KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. Determined to keep the project alive, we have spent the last three months searching tirelessly for a new partner. In the course of seeking advice and pursuing negotiations with people across many fields, we found in XBOX a partner with whom we share a common vision for the future, and we have decided to team up with them once again. Please rest assured that development of PHYSINT, our genre-defining action-espionage title, is ongoing and will continue moving forward.
well meaning or not, RE5 is racially insensitive.
Noah Caldwell-Gervais has a (fantastic) 8 hour long vid about the history of RE. Here’s a short edited clip where he talks about RE5 using an argument laid out by the Raoul Peck documentary Exterminate All The Brutes.
Programming is chaotic magic. There are no rules. You ask a game dev 'Can the player summon a giant demon that bursts from the ground in an explosion of lava?' and they will say 'sure, that's easy' and then you'll ask 'can the player wear a scarf?' and they'll go OOF
I read a thing a few years ago that said millennials are the only generation who are going to understand computers. The generation before us were too old and "set in their ways" to get it, and the one after us had too much convenience and extra layers of usability on top (like iPhones and such).
I didn't think too much of it at the time. Thought it was hyperbole, doom prophecising, all that. Apparently not.
Kids, please. Learn. There's gonna come a point where OS companies try and sell you basic actions you can do yourself. Not in a "but it's easier" way, which I get, but in a "this will take you ten minutes and literally save you so much money" way.
I'm not just being an old man in a cave right now. It's true, I promise. I've fought printers before you were born, loaded half translated Gameboy roms from floppy disks onto windows 95. I promise it's worth it.
Highguard is pretty fun. I don't really understand the hugely negative response it's getting.
My main gripes come from technical problems, the 3v3 game size, and the IMO lack of visual flair from the game or it's characters.
But as far as the gameplay goes, it's pretty fun.
