Mazwi Kubheka, who was allegedly kidnapped following a dispute at a spaza shop, has been found and is currently at the Vosloorus Police Station.

The man presented himself at the station this evening, according to police sources.

Investigations into the alleged kidnapping are ongoing.

Gauteng Premier and Police Commissioner to Brief Media on Mazwi Kubheka Case

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and Gauteng Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni will hold a joint media briefing today, Sunday, 3 May 2026, at 10:00 at the Vosloorus Police Station to provide an update on developments in the high-profile disappearance of 27-year-old spaza shop owner Mazwi Mpumelelo Kubheka.

The briefing comes just hours after Kubheka, missing since 2 April, presented himself at the Vosloorus Police Station on Saturday evening, 2 May.

Lieutenant General Mthombeni confirmed the development in a statement, which Premier Lesufi shared publicly, noting the young businessman's safe return and thanking the community and family for their cooperation.

Kubheka is reported to be traumatised and has undergone medical examination; he is admitted to Botshelong Private Hospital as investigations continue.

Kabelo Dikobe, who was allegedly kidnapped by foreign nationals over a Month ago in Alexandra, has still not been found.

This is even though a suspect in the matter has handed himself over to Alexandra SAPS.

It’s now been over a month since Kabelo went missing. The incident has caused severe stress for his family, who are still appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

What has shocked some residents in Alexandra is the feeling that other townships — like Vosloorus, Soweto, and Tembisa — often unite when a community member goes missing. But many feel that residents of Alexandra have not come together in the same way since Kabelo’s disappearance.
