@Brace_for_Impat This is the ignorance I’m talking about. You just mentioned random countries.. when in fact they all have the same limitations. For a radio channel you get data or you get bandwidth, you can play around the limitations but it’s a system limitation. But of course no point arguing
Of course, Nigerians will argue with a trained PhD in electronics and ceo of the largest telco. Every Base Transceiver Station (mast in layman terms) has a finite number of TRX which defines the capacity of the site. If everyone on the network has unlimited bandwidth for an extended period, it means everyone is holding on to the network resources for much longer which will inevitably cause network congestion. For you to give unlimited MOBILE data WITHOUT fair usage policies (speed throttling and what not) to millions of subscribers means you’d need to have many more base stations with more trx within short distances to properly capture and area.
It’s not impossible, it just makes no practical sense. It’s like everyone driving on the fast lane for the entire trip. It defeats the whole purpose of having the fast lane.
True unlimited is however possible for fibre based connections (Fiberone, ipNX, mtn fibre, etc) because in this case, you have a dedicated channel (the fibre) as opposed to the radio channel for mobile networks. It’s just the limitation of the channel. Hope this helps.
This Unlimited data issues ehn, let’s understand the technical realities and get a good grasp of what the subject matter is all about.
MTN says, I have Fiber X for your homes and offices, 100 Mbps, 200 Mbps, 500 Mbps and more. You get to choose the speed you want. It's truly unlimited, and you can connect all your devices.
What is being sold to you on fiber is speed, not volume, so you can use as much as you can use.
However, on your mobile phone, the facility is mobile spectrum, which requires capped data so that millions of users can use the connecting cell towers, all at the same time.
In a nutshell:
Mobile data = Capped Data
Fiber X = Unlimited Usage.
If we are calling for a better service, let’s call for better service from all the networks in the country.
Yes, there is room for improvement, but according to physics, radio spectrum technology for mobiles cannot allow any service provider to offer infinite or unlimited mobile data.
Technically, what MTN CEO said is true👌🏽
Having understood this, you can then channel all your energy into an actual request that is actually possible to achieve.
You either get unlimited data cap, and with a speed limit, or unlimited speed with a data cap. That is essentially how it works everywhere.
You can’t get no speed limit, no data cap, no fair usage policy, with good qos, at a sustainable price on a mobile network.

Haha same happened to me some years back.. I shared my screen I had a bookmarked folder titled “jobs” in my browser. Director called me later, says he noticed it. Got a pay raise 😅
A coworker once accidentally shared her screen during a Teams call and her resume was open. The whole team saw it. Her manager saw it. She got promoted 3 weeks later. We still talk about that.
Kevin De Bruyne was here for a decade and NEVER swept all these in one season. Neither did Gerrard or Lampard. Bruno Fernandes is casually cleaning out the entire country’s award cabinet while matching the all-time assist record. Best Premier League midfielder of this generation and it's not even close.
🏆🤯 Bruno Fernandes has won ALL the major individual awards so far this season:
→ Premier League Player of the Season
→ FWA Player of the Year
→ Manchester United Player of the Season
→ Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year
→ The Athletic Player of the Year
A team can't win the title after 22 years with 19 clean sheets & you overlook the GK & defenders that made it happen. NEVER!!!
A decent season for Bruno Fernandes but not enough to win Player of the Season. NEVER!!!
8 goals & 20 assists & finishing 3rd? Sad day for football.
