I started a job a few months ago and starting last week I have to travel to west texas for extended amounts of time (this first one is only a month). But I’ll typically be gone for 6+ months at a time only returning for a few weeks when I do end up coming back

Sure most of the time I’m here I’m working typically 12-14 hours a day 7 days a week, but when I’m not at work I just lay in bed and think about all the people I won’t be able to see and all the things I may miss out on.

I understand that this will help me tremendously later on in life but at the cost of turning my brain off and going through the motions daily. I’ve rambled enough, I’m not going to quit my job even considering the “dilemma” I’m in
