The same old sun that ripened the first fruit on earth long, long time ago is the same one coming through your window right now while you drink coffee and think about nothing in particular.
My parasocial grief is still DEEPLY griefing. I am really shook, and also continuously heartened to see videos and hear stories about the way Dolly lived, and the legacy she leaves.
It’s amazing to me that we can mourn someone we never met because they became part of the emotional landscape of our lives. Their voice, values, art, humor, and way of moving through the world genuinely shaped us. Miss you, @dollyparton.
I just heard someone in this coffee shop talking to their friend, “these folks are using their food stamps to buy junk food”. I said “excuse me for being nosey, but billionaires are using their money to būy kıds.”
My latte tastes better now
Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. . . . Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” —LUKE 12:22–25 🦋
There was a time when you owned almost nothing, but somehow everything felt like it belonged to you.
The woods behind the neighborhood were yours.
The empty lot was yours.
The corner store was yours.
That one tree everyone climbed belonged to the whole group.
Nobody had reservations. Nobody checked reviews. Nobody needed permission to enjoy themselves.
You just showed up.
A patch of grass became a baseball field. A pile of dirt became a bike jump. Somebody’s basement became headquarters.
We spent years turning ordinary places into entire worlds.
Then we grew up and started believing happiness required better things, bigger houses, expensive vacations and carefully planned experiences.
Maybe we had it backward.
Because some of the richest days of our lives happened when our pockets were empty and the whole neighborhood felt like it belonged to us.
God has seen everything you’ve been through: who hurt you, who didn’t keep their word, who left you when you needed them. He’s seen the mistakes you’ve made, the times you took a wrong turn. Now you’re in that corner, feeling alone, but God is coming to you.
You have prayed. You have done what you can. Now, before you close your eyes, give God what remains.
Whatever has made you anxious today, release it into His hands. Whatever you cannot fix tonight, leave it with Him. His hands are stronger than yours.
Let prayer carry what worry cannot. You do not have to carry tomorrow tonight. Rest. God is still working.
You may not see the hand that is protecting you. You may not see the strength He is supplying. You may not see the battles He is fighting on your behalf. You may not see the doors He is closing to preserve you. You may not see how His grace is carrying you when you feel you have no strength left. But He is there.
Others may see God's hand upon your life even when you cannot recognize it yourself. They may see the peace you carry in the middle of pressure, the strength you display in the middle of weakness, and the grace that keeps you standing when everything around you says you should have fallen. So keep walking.
Do not stop because the fire is hot. Do not turn back because the road is painful. Do not conclude that God has abandoned you because you cannot see Him. The absence of visible evidence is not the absence of God's presence. The fire may surround you, but it will not consume you. The waters may rise, but they will not overwhelm you. The battle may be fierce, but you are not fighting alone. There is a Fourth Man in your fire.
You may not see Him, but He is with you.
You may not feel Him, but He is sustaining you. You may not understand what He is doing, but He is working. And when you come out of the fire, you will discover that what you thought was destroying you was actually becoming a testimony of God's faithfulness. So keep walking.
You are not alone in the fire. You are not forgotten in the furnace. You are not abandoned in the battle. The One who was with you before the fire entered your life is the same One who will bring you safely through it. The fire may be around you, but Jesus is with you in it. And if He is with you, the fire will not have the final word.
“And the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” — Daniel 3:25

Today in the morning, I came across this beautiful scripture: 1 Peter 5:7 "Stop stressing yourself out. God knows what you are facing, and He will provide." If God has been good to you, respond with
Amen. Please 🙏🏼
I’ve woken up with migraines.
I’ve had anxiety so bad my chest hurt.
There are some mornings when it feels like my own body is working against me.
But one thing I know for sure. Every morning, God’s mercies are new. He is my strength. He is the only reason I am still standing and still smiling.
If you’re dreading today please know that you don’t have to face today alone.
The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you, He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. - Deuteronomy 31:8
Have a great day y’all. I love you all.
Dolly Parton says she once went through a period so dark, she understood why people turn to drugs and alcohol.
“Yes, I went through a bad period of time back in the ’80s when I was going through the change. I was having some female problems, family problems, emotional problems, and I was overweight. I didn’t feel good about myself at all, so I got myself in a pretty bad bind.”
“I understood at that moment how people get on drugs, how people get on alcohol, and how people can commit suicide. I didn’t do that because I kept praying, holding on to God, and hanging on to my friends.”
“No business thing has ever been able to get me that depressed. It has to be something very personal, either family or something during that middle-age change of life, when your hormones and everything are different.”
“I did have a very hard time, but God, praying, friends, and just trying to hang on helped me. Being Dolly, just being me, I thought, ‘Hey, either get off your fat ass and do something about it, or go ahead and blow your head off.’ And I thought, ‘Nah, I ain’t gonna do that.’”
“I believe God meant for me to go through that so I could completely feel for other people about everything.”
At first, nostalgia is about the things.
The toys scattered across the floor. The television shows you rushed home to watch. The restaurants, stores, and neighborhoods that disappeared.
But as you get older, something changes.
You realize those things were only the scenery.
What you really miss are the voices that filled those places.
Your mom calling you for dinner. Your dad laughing from another room. Your grandparents telling the same stories again. Your friends yelling your name from outside.
Eventually, nostalgia stops being about wanting things back.
It becomes wishing, just once, you could hear those voices again.
ANXIETY AND WORRY WILL KEEP YOU AWAKE ALL NIGHT.
You can lie on your bed for hours, thinking about tomorrow, wondering how things will work out, worrying about your finances, your family, your future, your health, your ministry, or the things you cannot control.
But listen to what God says:
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” — Matthew 6:34
God is reminding you today: You don't have to carry tomorrow's burdens today.
Tomorrow is not in your hands; it is in God's hands.
You may not know how everything will work out, but God already knows. You may not see the provision yet, but He is Jehovah Jireh. You may not know the way forward, but He is still your Shepherd.
Stop allowing the fear of tomorrow to steal the peace God has given you today.
Pray about it. Give it to God. Trust Him.
He will take care of you.
The same God who carried you through yesterday will sustain you today and will still be God tomorrow.
So tonight, rest.
You have prayed.
You have done what you can.
Now leave the rest in the hands of God.
Do not worry about tomorrow. God is already there. 🙏🏽
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
People aren’t just grieving famous people, they’re grieving the emotions they felt about people’s art as they experienced it for the first time. They’re grieving parts of their own lives that feel gone.
WHEN GOD MAKES A WAY, YOUR TRIAL IS NOT YOUR FINAL DESTINATION
Joseph was thrown into a pit, but the pit was not his permanent home.
Daniel was placed among hungry lions, but the lions did not have the final word.
Jonah was swallowed by a great fish, but God brought him out.
Lazarus entered the tomb, but death could not keep him there.
Elijah faced danger and isolation, yet God sustained him.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace, but they were not consumed—God was with them in the fire.
The message is powerful: the place of your trial does not have to become the place of your ending.
There may be moments when you feel trapped, surrounded, forgotten, rejected, broken, or completely without hope. You may look at your situation and think, “There is no way out.” But remember: God can make a way where you cannot see one.
The Bible reminds us:
«“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… and when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.” — Isaiah 43:2»
God did not promise that His people would never face pits, lions, storms, prisons, tombs, or fire. He promised His presence in the middle of them.
So do not give up because of what you are going through today.
Your pit can become a testimony.
Your storm can become a lesson.
Your prison can become a place of preparation.
Your fire can reveal that God is still with you.
Your darkest night can become the beginning of a new morning.
What looks like the end to you may only be the place where God is preparing your way out.
Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep standing in faith.
The trial is temporary. God is eternal.
The darkness is temporary. God is your light.
The battle is real. But God is greater.
Do not let your present situation convince you that God has abandoned you.
He is still working.
He is still faithful.
He is still able.
And He is still making a way.
🙏 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
DON’T STAY IN THE PLACE GOD IS BRINGING YOU THROUGH.
KEEP THE FAITH. YOUR STORY IS NOT OVER.
I’ve been weak.
I’ve been knocked down more times than I can count.
There have been days when it was hard for me to even get out of bed.
But I never lost hope. I never lost my faith. I remained joyful.
The joy of the Lord is your strength. - Nehemiah 8:10
Elijah arrived in the desert believing he was completely alone, exhausted after an intense period of confrontation and pressure. 🏜️🌿 The prophet had experienced extraordinary moments, but now he found himself under a juniper tree, weak and deeply discouraged.
His story is especially human because the Bible doesn't shy away from his weariness. Elijah expressed what he felt and needed to stop. In the midst of that situation, he received food and rest before continuing his journey.
📖 “And he lay down under a juniper tree and fell asleep; and behold, an angel touched him and said, ‘Arise and eat.’” — 1 Kings 19:5
The presence of the messenger beside Elijah represents a powerful contrast: while he perceived loneliness, the story showed that he was not completely abandoned. 🕊️
After resting, Elijah continued his journey and had a profound encounter with God. The desert didn't disappear immediately, but neither was it the end of his story.
His experience reminds us that even people of great faith can go through exhaustion, sadness, and moments of uncertainty. Feeling weak doesn't automatically make someone a person without faith.
🌅 Sometimes we need to acknowledge our limitations, rest, and listen attentively again. Elijah's story shows that the spiritual life also includes moments of silence, recovery, and renewal.
✨ Elijah felt alone in the desert, but that scene was not devoid of presence or purpose.

People ask me how I remain joyful despite my challenges.
NF1. Epilepsy. Vertigo. Migraines. Anxiety.
Losing my daddy unexpectedly at 8.
My honest answer is that my joy was never based on my circumstances or my condition. If it were it would’ve run out long ago.
My joy is in Jesus. And He never runs out. He is always good.
Though the fig tree does not bud… yet I will rejoice in the LORD. - Habakkuk 3:17-18
