Anyone out there have a source for a 3D scan of a multituberculate dentary or skull? It would be nice to add a representative 3D print of the teeth to our teaching collection for mammal evolution.
I don't Twitter often, but when I do it's to extend my support and all the positive vibes to the @EVNautilus gang. Although certainly worrisome, I'm confident that your team will recover the ROVs.
ICYMI on #NautilusLive, this is the moment when ROVs Hercules and Argus disconnected from the cable to the ship during the #ONCabyss dive with @Ocean_Networks. There are no clear causes identified yet and we are continuing to investigate while we plan to recover the vehicles.

Introducing, the Skeleton Panda Sea Squirt (as it’s getting close to Halloween and they are simply cool) - unknown exactly which species this is but could be either Polycitor proliferus or Clavelina moluccensis. Any further suggestions for an ID?

First 3D print of the deep-sea coral Lophelia pertusa was a huge success! Thank you UCSB’s CNSI #innovationworkshop - everyone is super pleased with the results! Onto more printing!! #deepseacoral 😍
We’re a big fan of deep sea fans! This fan coral and its fish friends were found at a depth of about 100 meters in the Santa Cruz Canyon, part of @NOAA_CINMS.

@thefishbotherer@Fishguy_FHL So I found a 3D scanner right under my own nose at UCSB! Here are my first scans - Lophelia! These will eventually be shared on a public database for all to see and use 🤗
3D scans of deep-sea coral or sponge or other creatures needed for education and outreach projects - anyone know who might be willing to share 3D files? Halp!

@thefishbotherer@Fishguy_FHL We'd like to print 3D models of deep-sea corals and sponges for edu/outreach kits for west coast sanctuaries! $$ deadlines have us scrambling a bit to make it before the end of the FY - thanks for putting out feelers :)
Elephant seals never forget about #ElephantDay!
Found on the beaches of the northern Channel Islands, the northern elephant seal (Mirounga angustirostris) is the second largest seal in the world!
How do you identify a male? By his "trunk" (big nose)!
