One more thing before you go, Snake. The Soviets won't be as accepting as the boys on Mother Base, so if an enemy sees you transition in the field, they're likely to become suspicious. If you're planning on changing your gender for this mission, you'd better do it stealth
@yourfriendpiper I see the appeal, I've just lost faith in the feasibility of that sort of response. I worry that without a guiding structure to maintain focus and effort, crowds tend to lose sight of the original goal, get distracted and the movement breaks apart
@yourfriendpiper Yeah I second that. It's basically impossible to make a set of rules that can't be co-opted by a bad actor, which is frustrating as hell, because the alternative does very little because there's no way to deal with the bad actor. As you said, an eternal debate.
there's a few moments throughout where a participant identifies a policy they like in the abstract and then blanches when forced to think about how that is realized. they don't want to have to think about how these things are done or grapple with a material world beyond symbols
@yourfriendpiper That's unfortunate. The experience on my end pushed me away from anarchism in general, made me think that maybe it's better to have a defined procedure to deal with abuse rather than trusting everyone to act fairly because "we all believe in justice, right?"
