Same script every time from ‘them’ to ‘us’ in all areas of life…nod along, dress it up in ‘engagement’, then do what they were always going to do anyway. It’s not dialogue, it’s theatre and p taking.
The whole thing after the European Super League was meant to be a reset. Fans were supposed to have a voice, not just be managed better. But somewhere along the line it’s turned into a tick-box exercise so they can say ‘we consulted’.
To match-going fans this is everything. I for one am here to do what is can! DM me and ai will get involved because It’s precedent. It’s our way of life and this is the first step. Once it’s normalised, it’s constant and then it’s out of reach for the very people who built the culture they’re selling back to us. And the culture is gone! It’s not just about prices it’s our history. Our ability to fight and be heard on and off the pitch.
It’s about what this club is. Liverpool FC isn’t a brand you can just upscale and price out locals without losing what makes it special. The Kop, the atmosphere, the generational loyalty..you don’t recreate that once it’s gone. Without us you have a mostly disconnected touristy customer who visits every so often or once in a lifetime, doesn’t know the way of life, the loyalty, the songs, the banter, legacy doesn’t continue. Without us the atmosphere is gone and it affects the team too.
‘Not a pound in the ground’ is a line in the sand. Because if this one slides, the next one will be easier for them.
People can do what they want, but if you care about what this club’s always stood for, this is one of those moments where it actually matters if you show up or not.
