Hi, if you're looking at my posts from before this date, you're going to be reading a LOT of my terrible mental state back then. I AM SO MUCH BETTER NOW OMG. I can barely even remember what it was like because I was just stuck in fight or flight/disassociateing. Enjoy your stay!
So, I did watch it.
Zim0thy is 100% correct. It's not a hot take or anything, but the video boils down to exactly what I've been saying: you have to engage with media on its own terms and "I didn't like it" isn't actual criticism.
im finding out people genuinely thought she escaped the backrooms in this scene and that this was the actual clark's store. please get off your phones and watch the movie
No clipping into the #backrooms as a cave man must be 1000% more terrifying. Because at least we can recognise some of the components, but a cave man would literally have no idea what the walls around him even are. Like describing a dog to someone who has never seen one.
Aw shucks, if only there were blatant themes of mental health, visual representations of your own ego devouring yourself, several therapy scenes that delve deeper into Clark’s character, allegories for dissociating/the effects of neglect through Mary’s character…oh wait.
Not “nearly,” but absolutely every time Hades appears in any iteration, I do his voice. I was in the studio just a few weeks ago in fact. I love this character, and the creative team at Disney never fail to do top notch work.
So... just so we're clear... you want me to be afraid of trans women in the women's bathroom because they might be cis men pretending so they can assault women and children... and you think this reflects on... trans women... and not on cis men?
Do I have this correct?
