For #IWD2023 at @JodrellBank Girls' Night Out yesterday, @_lyndalaird and I talked about 'An Imperfect Account of a Comet', inspired by Caroline Herschel. Dr Rhian Jones talked about how and why we explore the solar system. A great event in the outstanding First Light Pavilion!

Really looking forward to going to @jodrellbank with @_LyndaLaird next week. We'll be talking about Caroline Herschel on #IWD23 and how her work was transformed by Lynda into an audio-visual installation. https://t.co/zWrG7VmKdc #WomensHistoryMonth

Love the story behind this, 250 years in the making, for “all the women whose groundbreaking knowledge and wisdom has been overlooked, undervalued, and ignored throughout history”.
Beautiful archive material too

So happy to feature Lynda Laird's beautiful imagery in the mag - a modern representation of work done in the 18th century by Caroline Herschel, via a Royal Astronomical Society residency @RoyalAstroSoc @_LyndaLaird

Also my first writing for New Sci! ✨

Friday and Saturday there's a fantastic candlelit event at St Mary's Church in Slough celebrating astronomer Caroline Herschel with 560 plates of the 'missing' stars she catalogued created by @_LyndaLaird. It should be really good, and at £3 it's a steal! https://t.co/VbqRJkrjPD
