Mohammed Ali to Joho: I’m back. You and your political godfather can scheme all you want — Mombasa isn’t your personal kiosk to “arrange.” The people decide. I’m leading the charge. Game on!
This needs to stick into the mwananchi mentality that come 2027 August, this is the kind of vter turnout we need. We have to deal with Kasongo squarely, perpendicularly and every way #WANTAM#SisiNdoSifuna#RutoMustGo
This is what Raila said about Sifuna during his lifetime: 'Sifuna has a right to speak on behalf of ODM.' The same ODM Raila left has now removed his 'political son' as Secretary General. Shame on you, Oburu!
Everyone in @TheODMparty should take this to the bank the only people can attract votes and population like JAKOM did are "Mimi ndo Sifuna" & Babu Owino the rest are just shadows waiting for the sun to set. #MimiNdoSifuna#WANTAM#RutoMustGo#RutoMustBeJailed
Ruth Odinga Writes:
In recent months, Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary-General Hon. Edwin Sifuna – alongside a group of party members and legislators frequently labeled as ‘rebels’ – has been at the center of a deepening political rift. This friction stems from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established between President William Ruto and the late former Prime Minister, Hon. Raila Odinga in March 2025.
But it is the attacks following his recent interview on Citizen TV that have got me wondering how fast political allegiances can shift. He questions the very things we have been questioning despite the online attacks by (hired?) bloggers.
As a signatory to the ODM account, if he questions where all the money for choppers, big tents and ODM branded t-shirts and caps in the ‘Linda Ground’ conventions are coming from, why should anyone abuse him? He admitted on national TV that ODM Party has not spent any coin on the campaigns which run into millions of shillings. Those with the answers, why can’t you provide them? Are governors funding the campaigns? Are MPs doing it from CDF kitty? Did we get a philanthropist that a Party SG is not aware of who is funding the clearly expensive public fora? And what is in it for the ‘philanthropist’?
Considering the evident struggle (read lack of political goodwill) in the implementation of the MoU, the last thing we should do, if we mean well for the Party, is to muffle the voices of people like Sifuna. If indeed he is a ‘rebel’, then how many times was Raila Odinga one? Even in the ‘nusu mkate’ government Raila would still stand his ground.
The money flying in choppers, being used to procure big tents and to mobilize and brand crowds in ODM colors, yet the same money cannot be sent to the ODM Party bank accounts only means one thing: control. According to SG Sifuna, ODM is owed a staggering Sh. 12 billion by the government. This is a constitutional requirement based on the strength of the political party. The government has the option of releasing the funds to the Party, but when that happens, they will lack control. So they must be the ones controlling the show, where they decide who is ‘invited’ to the Linda Ground tents, and what they say once they get there. Anything outside the script attracts immediate booing as it was the case with Suba North MP Hon. Millie Odhiambo at the Ciala Resort in Kisumu.
If the MoU has not been honored, with just less than 30 days to its expiry, what is so ‘treasonous’ in Sifuna publicly declaring it "dead"? And for the ‘Tutam’ choir members in ODM, if President Ruto does not honor an agreement he signed with a man he said helped him steady a ship called Kenya that was sinking following the Gen-Z protests, how sure are you that he will honor the pre-election pact you are all talking about? Will he use a different signature?
Because I have already been labelled a ‘rebel’, I must put these here so that when the going will get tough – and it surely will – you won’t accuse me of being mute. It is not really upon the committee implementing the 10-point agenda (COIN-10); the buck stops with bearer of the signature in the MoU, who is none other than President William Ruto. We have up to March 7 to see how this goes.
