A petition that seeks to make President the (Executive) Chair of the Public Service Commission, and to include the Chief Administrative Secretaries in the Commission's functions, and improve the Commission's structure for better coordination and accountability in the government has been filed in Parliament.

The petition has proposed Article 233 of the Constitution of Kenya, which deals with the Public Service Commission (PSC) changed.

The proposed change aims to make the President the Executive Chair of the PSC, similar to how the Chief Justice leads the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) and the Speaker of the National Assembly leads the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

This means that the President would have an executive leadership role in overseeing the activities of the Public Service Commission.

The petition proposes the position of the CAS's in the Public Service Commission Act.

The CAS is an important position within the government, and the petition suggests involving this role in the functions of the Public Service Commission.

By amending the PSC Act and incorporating the CASs, the petition aims to improve the structure and functioning of the Public Service Commission.

We support the petition as it is here to promote better coordination and accountability within the government by restructuring the leadership positions within the Public Service Commission.
