Elephants have very sensitive skin that can easily get sunburned. When the sun is very bright as shown in this video, they pour sands on themselves do that the layer of dirt can act act as a natural sunscreen, providing a protective barrier against the harsh sunlight.

The sand also act as insect repellent. The abrasive nature of the dirt can help to remove dead skin and parasites, promoting better skin condition.

Finally, when they do it in group, it's a form of bonding. It serve the same purpose that grooming in monkeys and apes serve.

I have seen takes about this Kolanut and many of you are incredibly dull. Many of your arguments are baseless and not backed up with facts. Why can't women break Kolanut? Why is it an abomination? What will happen if they do? Why were these rules made? What is the story behind it?

Personally, I have no business with breaking Kolanut, my dad don't eat it, my grandparents don't, I barely partake in traditional gatherings, but it would have been nice to know more about this topic.

Kolanut is something anybody, even a child can buy from the road side or the market but y'all have compared it with menstruation, digging of graves (a skill), digging of soakaway (a skill), etc most of these things you are comparing Kolanut with are skills that anybody including you, cannot do without learning from someone. The comparisons are so stupid and messy. How can society progress with this level of backward thinking? Even the gizzard issue, no one has been able to come out with a logical reason why women are not allowed to eat gizzard.

This was an opportunity to learn and understand certain rules better and the reason they were made but because many of you are unreasonable, you started going back and forth baselessly. Are you cursed?
