🇨🇦🪖 Sikh Canadians
A Legacy of Courage and Service
Significant yet often underrecognized
From the muddy trenches of Flanders to the battlefields of Kandahar, Sikh Canadians have stood shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters in arms fighting for freedom, justice, and the maple leaf they proudly call home.
To the Sikh Canadians who served and continue to serve: Your sacrifice is written into the story of Canada.
Your bravery echoes through generations. Your service defines what it means to be truly Canadian.
Lest we forget. 🙏🇨🇦
💥 World War I (1914-1918)
They volunteered when Canada barely recognized them as citizens.
Heroes like Private Buckam Singh fought in Belgium with the 20th Battalion, were wounded twice, and came home with honour even when their country denied them the right to vote.
🔥 World War II (1939-1945)
Sikh Canadians once again answered the call training at Camp Vernon, serving across the Commonwealth while their community fought at home for equality and civil rights, finally achieved in 1947.
🌍 Korea, Peacekeeping & Afghanistan
From UN peacekeeping missions to the hills of Korea, and decades later in Afghanistan, Sikh Canadians served in uniform, keeping alive the warrior spirit of their ancestors the Saint Soldiers who stand for righteousness.
🎖 Today
They serve in every branch of the Canadian Armed Forces from soldiers to commanders.
Leaders like Lt-Col Harjit Sajjan went on to become Canada’s Minister of National Defence, breaking barriers while staying true to the articles of faith turban, beard, courage, and conviction.
They used voter lists to find Sikhs. They burned them alive. Politicians directed it. Police enabled it. 41 years later, no justice. The world must remember the 1984 Sikh Genocide.
@CP24 Remember They tried to force flight attendants into arbitration with a “neutral” “unbiased” CIRB rep who worked for air Canada as their labour lawyer for years independently and as an employee?? That’s fair and just?!?!?! #UNPAIDWORKWONTFLY
The Liberal government’s decision to order Air Canada flight attendants back to work and impose binding arbitration is wrong because it strips workers of their fundamental right to protest and strike for fair treatment.
Flight attendants are striking over a very real injustice: being forced to work unpaid before takeoff and after landing.
Yet instead of allowing them to use collective action to demand change, the government is siding with corporate interests and silencing their voices. By intervening in this way, the Liberals are undermining workers’ rights, weakening the bargaining power of unions, and setting a dangerous precedent that economic convenience is valued over basic labour justice.
Full-time junior Air Canada flight attendants currently earn $1,952 a month.
BEFORE TAXES.
That’s slightly over $12/hr.
Air Canada did $22 billion in revenue & $3.6 billion in EBITDA last year.
They seriously want to blame stranded passengers on flight attendants who don’t want to work for free?
"They offered me $5 million to shoot Ibrahim Traoré from behind specifically when he bends to pray to Allah. They even promised my family and me citizenship in their country. They called it 'an offer I couldn’t refuse.' To them, money matters more than humanity.
But I asked myself. Is $5 million worth carrying a guilty conscience to my grave? Will that money make me a king in a foreign land, or a fool mocked by their sons and daughters? I’d rather live as a lion in the wild than as a dog in their city."

@DC_Milinovich@PeelPolice Sirs they are already committing a crime. Do we really think banning keyless entry systems will help. Did banning guns help 😭 this cant be real anymore 😭 god help us all 🙏🏽
For all the Liberals celebrating today, exactly what do you think you "won"?
What appealed to you most about the last 10 years?
Your kids competing for jobs with the excessive immigration that is well beyond what any country our size could handle?
Housing costs that have made it virtually impossible for any young person to EVER own a home?
Food costs that even well-off people are side-eying now?
Each of those contributing to young people who can't afford families?
Endless scandals in government?
A government that imposed the emergencies act because of truck horns?
A government that has demonstrated they would rather push energy customers away than build pipelines and plants on the coast?
Carbon taxes on fuel for homes and vehicles that have no other option?
Prioritizing DEI over competence?
I could go on but we'll start there.
