Dr. Padilla was nominated by professor Robin Roberts, who focused on Padilla’s work to advocate for diversity and inclusion in both the college and university. Additionally, Padilla works as an advocate for other programs around campus.

Professor Yajaira Padilla was also awarded this honor for her work in recruiting and retaining minority students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
