I do not understand YouTube. At all.

BECAUSE YOU’RE LITERALLY NOT SHOWING IT TO THEM

YouTube doesn’t alert my subs, they don’t even put it on their home pages or recommended tabs.

I’ve asked a sample of over 100 of my subs. They’ve almost all said the same thing.
“You posted a new video?”

It’s ridiculous.
The only way I get views are through corruption content. I don’t want to do only corruptions. It gets old. It gets stale. I can’t keep doing it forever.

I thought my baseline for views was my backrooms video at 1.7k
Now my baseline is my sonic colors video at *barely* 1k. And I know this gamble video, despite putting in more work, getting professional advice, and hiring a proper thumbnail artist, is going to be my new baseline for views. Thank you youtube.

The only people that watch my content at this point are the ones in my discord because YouTube isn’t pushing my content anymore, despite an average view duration of over 40% (for most creators it’s around 20)

I know I need to not look at numbers, but it’s hard when I’m spending so much of my time making a video, and it gets shut down by YouTube so quickly.

Image is from my Backrooms video. The gamble video says 85% instead of 75%, and it’s only at 400 views, 12 hours in. DOA.
I have 7.5k subs. If I go to the tab that lists more analytics, it says it’s only shown it to less than 4k people.

To add into that, people don’t want to watch a video that has under 1k views because “my time is valuable, not enough people like this video, so I’m not going to waste my time.” It’s ridiculous.

TLDR: I don’t understand YouTube in any metric. It’s really shitty for new creators.
