REATILE CLINCHES BEE ROLE IN R16BN DEAL
UAE fuel giant Adnoc Distribution has chosen South African firm Reatile as its Black economic empowerment partner for a R16bn purchase of Shell’s downstream operations in South Africa.
The deal covers roughly 600 petrol stations and is due to complete in 2027.
Reatile, founded and chaired by Simphiwe Mehlomakulu (pictured), brings deep local energy expertise built over more than two decades.
Adnoc says the partnership meets South Africa’s transformation rules while supporting long-term growth.
Neither side has revealed the size of Reatile’s stake.
