I ask again, is there no scope of practice document for allied health professionals in Nigeria?
Because even if this is going on in reality, what gives someone like this the confidence to state that they are acting out of their training and scope openly like this online?
As a community pharmacist do you have independent prescribing rights in Nigeria beyond PCM and lozenges?
This is one of the reasons I support litigation medicine to an extent. Because if you as a self appointed "primary care physician" mismanages your first sore throat that ended up being a retropharygeal abscess, the next time(if there will be one), you'd be more cautious.
I think maybe we can get antibiotics over the counter in countries that are working …. In the grand scheme of things I blame the country ….But what do i know 🤷🏾♀️
If you pick the wrong forceps for extraction in an oral surgery exam it's a veto failure, if you like make you don get 60 already for that exam, you can not pass oral surgery without knowing forceps because thy use it everyday in the clinic. Same way if they ask you gold standard or confirmatory test for gastric ulcer and you don't mention upper gi endoscopy you are coming back for that exam, because the consultants in gastro unit explain it everytime and here in UNTH they do UPPER GI ENDOSCOPY every TUESDAY all the unit in gastro will be at endoscopy room no clinic that day, every student is presenting as the consultant is showing us the upper gi, so if you fail to say it They will assume you don't come around and you will be given a veto failure.
