Fellow Canadian author @andriaontherun's romcom debut releases TODAY!! Sweet, small town... y'know, the things you voted last week in my poll that you liked ๐
@andriaontherun Yeah... esp in this day & age, I find the wealth flexing a little off-putting too, BUT I suppose it's as much a fantasy trope as any other romance trope is a fantasy, so I see where it can have appeal ๐คทโโ๏ธ
So it wasn't a huge sample size, but almost everyone chose "small town/guy-next-door" on my little heroes poll. Fascinating!
I know celebrity/billionaire is a *huge* market right now, so there must be very little crossover with my readership. But again, small sample size!
Often times writers mistake revision letters for rejection letters.
If an editor or agent gave you notes or reasons why the book wasn't working and invited you to resubmit, it's a revision letter. And we really want to see it again.
@MaggieKBlack I'm still stuck on not finding clown masks terrifying. Do they not remember the creepy clown panic of 2016? Or, like... IT being a cultural phenomenon?? PERPLEXED. ๐ค
There are a bunch of other genres also represented in this sale, as with the other promos I've posted. I'm really liking this "try before you buy" with new authors idea, especially with series that interest me but I'm not ready to make a full commitment to yet.
In case anyone read the June Woods inspy mystery "The Mystery of Midnight Island" that was free in the promo I posted the other week, Book 1 in her Breakwater Bay series is on sale for $0.99 right now (or less, it's $0.77 as I post this, lol)! https://t.co/uSW4VbV1Go
*cue Yoda voice* There is... another.
...ie. another re-release of one of my books, in Australia, in this duo with a new Sharon Dunn story. And it's from just last month! Hope you enjoy, Aussies!! ๐
I read it! It moves pretty quickly and sets up a series (as with many of these short novellas). I'm intrigued enough to go check the listing online to learn more about the first book, since this short one didn't really allow us to get to know the team as well as I'd have liked...
Sooooo... I just picked this title up from the bookspry giveaway promo (https://t.co/P53J4xYzRf) & plan to start it tonight... I've never read this author before, but the main character is a retired spy named Lucia, and this was the line that hooked me-- (1/2)
"Lucia determines that she needs more specialized help for this job and enlists the services of four other women from the spy community."
Lady spies!! Coastal Spain!! A royal family!! Okay, I'm in. ๐ (2/2)
(The link goes to the promo page where I downloaded the story for free.)
I've read one other Melissa McClone book before & *really* enjoyed it, so if anyone can convince me there's something to this billionaire trope, she probably can ๐ ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I'm having a novella/short story heavy reading week... ๐ I'd not read a billionaire romance before (I know they're really popular) but tried this little prequel short story... and now I kinda want to read all 6 books?! https://t.co/P53J4xYzRf
