Gen 3 stands out more than 90% of rpg maker games graphically speaking.
The default rtp is just so widely used even to this day.
Only a few projects swap out the default tiles for something custom or bought.

The games i do play still run great on the 1070 and otherwise i emulate which leans more on cpu performance than gpu anyways.

@inkblotPrincess I mean a 4096x4096 dds texture at dxt 1 is roughly 8mb.
Now consider the fact that materials use multiple textures, not just a single prebaked image like in ps1/ps2 era times and things add up.
It is true though that uncompressed audio or video also is a big chunk of the bloat.

Its also purely for games and not for other useful apps, i use an emulator for an app that wont run on my physical phone, cant use google play for that.

@animoodix @senkuma777 Its a color indexed image, every second pixel is transparent, due to the way how thumbnail generation (downscaling) works on twitter the visible pixels turn invisible.
Viewing the full image you will notice the image being washed out in light mode or weirdly dark in dark mode.

This causes an optical illusion making it look like all pixels have low opacity (except the areas where every second pixel isnt invisible like the bikini).

Due to how resizing/compression works all visible pixels become invisible.
The bikini doesnt have every second pixel transparent which is why it stays.
