CONOR McGREGOR WAS GIVEN THE UFC’S BIGGEST STAGE LAST NIGHT. I CANNOT STOP THINKING ABOUT SURVIVOR NIKITA HAND.

In November 2024, an Irish civil jury found Conor McGregor liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Handin December 2018.

The medical evidence presented during the trial was horrifying.

Nikita was menstruating and wearing a tampon when the assault occurred. The tampon became lodged so high inside her body that a doctor had to remove it with forceps at the hospital.

She was also missing acrylic fingernails, had a cut on her chin and was later diagnosed with severe PTSD. A paramedic testified that Nikita had extensive bruising across her body. A doctor documented injuries to her neck, chest, abdomen, arms, legs, buttocks and thighs and classified them as severe. She described nightmares, panic attacks, isolation and the lasting impact the assault had on her life.

The jury heard that evidence and rejected McGregor’s claim that the encounter was consensual. Nikita was awarded nearly €250,000 in damages.

McGregor appealed the verdict. His appeal was dismissed, and Ireland’s Supreme Court later refused to hear a further appeal, leaving the jury’s finding in place.

And after all of that, Conor McGregor was treated like a returning hero last night.
He walked into a sold-out arena as the main event of UFC 329 while the crowd cheered and the organization promoted his comeback as one of the biggest moments in the sport.

In the lead-up to the fight, McGregor appeared on @FallonTonight Show Starring @jimmyfallon , where he laughed, told stories and promoted his return. He was featured in major interviews, press events and entertainment coverage. Streaming platforms and sports networks heavily promoted his comeback, while the @UFC continued presenting him as one of its biggest stars.

Nikita Hand survived the assault, the physical injuries, the hospital examination, severe PTSD, years of waiting, a public trial and multiple attempts to overturn the verdict.

Then she had to watch the man a jury found liable for sexually assaulting her receive Fallon, the promotional tour, the main event and the applause.

My outrage is that so many powerful organizations decided his fame and earning potential mattered more than what a jury found he did to Nikita Hand.
