Here’s my take on your refugees problem:

It’s the government that turns refugees into either an asset or a liability.

If you accept refugees, you need to have a plan to integrate them into society. You need temprory refugee camps in designated areas, aid, and support until they are provided with housing, education, and jobs.

If you put native citizens out on the streets with no job or shelter

they will be hated by everyone. They will also become vulnerable to exploitation, and since some might have to rely on begging or theft to survive, they won’t just create problems in the areas they live in, they will also grow to resent the society they are in

In the countries that rely on immigration

they have special education programs and a pathway for integration into society.

In other words, not taking refugees is better than taking them in without any plan in place
