Anyone familiar with Gerald Martin and his work? I'm going to keep an eye out for this. Looks like it's out in the U.K. now, available in the U.S. in November. Martin's last bio was of Gabriel García Márquez. He also has done a lot of work on Miguel Angel Asturias.

Perhaps the silliest thing I've seen of late is wrestling fans complaining about the amount of wrestling and time they get for shows in @AEW.

Now everyone can feel differently, but as a kid, I always enjoyed NWA TV weekly more than WWF because, as my father used to point out, there was more wrestling for your time investment on the shows.

Tonight's Summerslam had less than 90 minutes of bell to bell action. That's OK if that was enough for you, but throwing out reporter/writer, whatever, as a fan, I want the most for my time investment and my dollar.

If I go to see the new Spider-Man film, I'm thrilled it's 2 hours and 30 minutes of fun action. If I am a wrestling fan and I get way more than I paid for in the ring, as opposed to a lot of time filling commercials, promos, etc. I'm a happy guy.

I am all for any company that gives talents the chance to do everything they can to perform and better themselves. It's one of the reasons ECW spoke so much to me. Do these shows end late? Yeah, certainly, but we also live in a world where if you are legitimately ordering the PPV, you can go back and watch the replays when you want and with a DVR you can record the TV shows for your enjoyment as you wish to consume them. Watching them may be my job so I need to watch in real time 99% of the time, but it isn't yours.

Again, my feeling is this - there is a bounty of riches for fans in AEW and others companies right now. Love what you love, because one day, it may not be there. Then, you won't be complaining there's too much of anything. Like 2001, you'll be missing what you used to have and feeling like there's not enough of what you loved anymore. So, there's a lot of reasons to be happy @tonykhan cared that much to enter the space.

AEW helped balance the scales back towards the days where there was an AWA, ECW, Crockett Promotions, WCW, whatever. It gets dissected to death because it was the first true national competitor to launch in the social media era and it's fair game that it does, but to me, any promotion that gives you that many top notch wrestling matches a month with so many talents - many of whom never would have fit into the WWE jigsaw puzzle pre-AEW launch - that's a great thing to have.

I know we all complain about stuff, but to me, complaining about getting so much wrestling that is over-delivered to you...that one seems silly. Cherish it. I've lived through losing stuff you love. It sucks. I don't want that for any of you. Not everything has to be your favorite thing every week, but I do say appreciate that it exists and remember you can consume it how you want, when you want it to be there for you. This stuff is meant to be escapist entertainment for your enjoyment. So, enjoy.
