إن فشل المجتمع الدولي في وقف الحرب على غزة كان بمثابة الضوء الأخضر لتوسيع رقعة الصراع دون أدنى درجة من درجات المسؤولية من قبل المعتدين. أؤكد وقوف دولة قطر الكامل إلى جانب لبنان وشعبه الشقيق ضد الاعتداءات الوحشية التي يتعرض لها، كما وجهت بسرعة التحرك وتوفير كافة الموارد اللازمة لتقديم الدعم الإنساني والإغاثي لجميع النازحين والمتضررين من هذا العدوان.

As a board member of @GUQatar , with grief and sorrow, I mourn the passing of Awad Hasan Zayed, father of Georgetown University-Qatar student, Ahmed Awad Zayed, as a result of injuries sustained from an Israeli airstrike in #Gaza.

In the past 3 months we have submitted several official requests to the respective authorities to evacuate Ahmed’s family through Rafah crossing and bring them to Qatar to join Ahmed. Despite all of our pleas and the active and constant diplomatic engagement, the family were denied the required approval to cross the borders.

The rest of Ahmed’s family are still stuck in Gaza, and with the atrocious military operation in Rafah they are in grave danger. We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the safety of Ahmed’s remaining family in Gaza, requesting an immediate approval to allow them to cross Rafah borders in order to evacuate them to Qatar.

Ahmed’s family is not the only family Qatar has been trying to evacuate, there are hundreds who have been denied the approval to leave despite all the diplomatic efforts and pressure.

All civilians in Gaza must be protected and this brutal massacre must stop.

Israel guided 1.5 millions of Palestinians into Rafah. They moved the "safe zone" further and further south, until the Rafah was all that was left. Now they're bombing Rafah, and people have nowhere to go, nowhere to flee. It's genocide.
