On today’s date of 2/2/22, my little first graders wrote letters to their future selves. On 3/3/33, they will be seniors in high school and get to read what questions and thoughts they have about their life 11 years later. Perfect way to end our letter writing unit!
We loved learning about Lunar New Year and how some of our classmates celebrate! We even had a classmate’s mom as a guest reader to help share about the holiday! The class loved getting gold coins, making lanterns, and creating a dragon for STEM! 🏮🧧🐉
We are working on “How To” writing now, and the students worked really hard on their PB&J writings. I decided to pick a few random ones and follow the directions over the weekend. The class loved seeing me ALMOST make a full PB&J and learned the importance of detail!
We read Room on the Broom and saw how the witch’s broom broke OH NO! These hard working first graders made new brooms to hold 5 pumpkins! We love ending the week with STEM 🎃
