Every athlete knows that changing spikes few minutes before a race, is a recipe for disaster. She spent about 1hr that she ought to have used to warm up, uncertain if she would run.

Nerves set in - pressured moments got to her. You don't go straight into a race that you didn't warm up for, and your body cells not capitulating with nervousness.

It was after Perfect Faye was DQed yesterday, that Nigeria found out that her own spikes fell under the same specification as Faye's.

Yes, she might have cost the team, but she had climbed a lot of mountains even before that race. So when some of you criticize and come for her, do fairly weigh the circumstances that she had overcome before coming out to the track.
