Summer means hot cars – make sure you check that backseat before locking up.
Summer means more freedom for a lot of young drivers – remind them that freedom requires focus.

Since 1937, The Lost Colony has been a must-see experience for visitors to North Carolina's Outer Banks. When the first English settlers arrived on Roanoke Island more than 400 years ago, they encountered abundant local wildlife, and many of those same species can still be seen today.
As you travel to the show this summer, stay alert for wildlife along the road. Avoid wildlife collisions by staying alert, slowing down, and watching for animals on the road.

May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Motorcycles are smaller and harder to see—so take an extra moment to look twice.
Check your mirrors and blind spots before turning or changing lanes.

May is National Bicycle Safety Month. 🚴You wouldn’t wear the wrong shoe size. Make sure your bike and helmet fit, too!
Helmets are cool, especially when they save your life.

The legislators sponsoring HB 1199, which would require chronic excessive-speed offenders to have a device installed in their vehicle that uses GPS technology to prevent speeds in excess of posted limits, held a press conference on Wednesday.
IIANC Chief Advocacy Officer and NCAST Executive Director Joe Stewart joined traffic safety advocates and families who’ve lost a loved one in a crash caused by a motorist traveling at high speeds to express support for this effort to make NC roads safer.
