@ZCarr39 Helenius is the best prospect this team has had in I don’t even know how long. When Tampa was a perennial force they had so many guys with big time production on ELCs. I’d let Tuch walk and figure out a way to have them take back more picks and prospects instead of Helenius
Unpopular opinion:
I think the Sabres should largely resist the urge to make a massive splash this summer and instead bet on internal growth for one more season.
A thread 🧵
@Matt_Bove Mrtka
Kulich
Ostlund
Helenius
Kulich probably not tradeable given his situation, Mrtka feels like he won’t push a meaningful deal past the finish line, Helenius feels untouchable for me…so I think it’s Ostlund going back the other way if a big deal happens
@Sabremetrix This reminds me of me in elementary school, they asked us to write a short story and I wrote about how John LeClair’s goal shouldn’t have counted against the Sabres because it went through the side of the net.
Love the content!
Here’s the thing, spending major assets on a goalie doesn’t guarantee your goalie problem gets solved.
It’s the hardest position to project in hockey, which is why so many teams resort to throwing darts.
You don’t need a great goalie. You need a goalie playing great.
@ntrider825@Sabremetrix Watching Ras put up 5 and him be an exit & entry horse was the game we dreamed of when they won that lottery for Power and we wondered if it wasnt good to invest that much on D
With four points (1+3) tonight, Rasmus Dahlin has joined Lindy Ruff (April 16, 1985 at Quebec; 1+3) as the only defensemen in franchise history to record four points in a single playoff game.
