Disney CEO got 45.8m - including bonuses (2026), (1m base salary btw). His successor will get between 38 - 45m. And they are laying off ~1000, including this top notch artist. 1700 laid off in '23. Corporate greed will never cease to disgust me. More ai to come as well, I'm sure.
Hi Iโm a trans woman with leftist political leanings and I worked on Halo 4, Reach, ODST, Gears of War 3 and basically every other Microsoft Studios title in the early 2010s
Weโve always been involved in gaming, yall just didnโt used to be such thin skinned fucking crybabies
@RinoTheBouncer Dead space needs to be bought by someone who gives a sh*t about it and then remake 2. They actually did a good job of remaking 1, but then just shelved it.
500 a month...for 9 yrs worth of experience. @TSM This is beyond horrible. The uncaring, disrespectful, low wage is as shameful as using AI slop. May karma kick you in the ass & every artist find something more worth their talent, time & effort every time this bullshit happens.
TSM has just informed me they are limiting my wage to 500 USD a month, and replacing my work with AI slop.
If you need an Art Director or Graphic Designer, I am open to all offers. I have 9 years of experience, with over 4 of those in esports.

I'd argue that we are very LUCKY that Fortnite won the live-service Olympics, because at least they use that money developing Unreal Engine making game dev cheaper, easier, more efficient and easier to learn for every other indie and game studio. Imagine if EA had made Fortnite.
This is cool. Yet the comments make me sad. SO many gamers these days seem to be such garbage human beings. The band releasing this has fuck all to do w/ what the rest of the dev team is working on (simultaneously, btw). I want the game to grow, but also really don't.

@jadel4w It's easy for things like that to slip by when you're having fun! I first tried Hunt simply because of the aesthetic. I've always loved the art in that game, be it a trait or weapon skin. Super cool to know you/Wardog is involved!
๐ฆ A service called Spy Pet has been scraping Discord, pulling data from over 10,000 servers. They claim to have data on 600 million users and 3 billion messages. Anyone can look up a specific user's activity across servers for about 10 cents in crypto. The data is being sold to law enforcement and to companies training AI models. Meanwhile, Discord just announced that starting next month, users will need a face scan or government ID for full access.
My Take
Discord feels private because it's fragmented. You're in a Minecraft server here, a crypto server there, maybe a work community somewhere else. But Spy Pet stitches all of that together into one searchable profile. Everything you posted, everywhere you posted it, available to anyone with a dime and a crypto wallet. You didn't consent to cops reading your gaming chat. You didn't consent to your conversations training some AI model. But consent stopped being the point a long time ago.
And now Discord wants your face. They say it's to protect teens. One of their third-party vendors had a data breach last year that exposed users' ID images. So the platform that already let your data get scraped and sold is asking you to trust them with your biometrics. If it's not encrypted, assume it's being harvested. Discord isn't a private space. It's a public one that feels private, which is almost worse.
