Texas just made weed a felony after over 70% of voters voted to legalize it. Is this what we call a democracy when the representatives of a state will openly defy the will of voters because incarceration rates went down so much and prisons lost money? Texas is a fucking republican-ran hellhole.
They say books won’t change the world. Tell that to every colonizer who burned them. To every enslaved person who was punished for reading. Literacy is resistance. Literacy is liberation. The library is a battlefield.
My frontal lobe fully developed, and I realized that spending five days a week working a 9 to 5 until I’m 60 just so I can finally “enjoy life” for a few years at the end is one of the worst deals we’ve ever been told to accept.
